In December 2022, KROHNE France was present at the Vrac Tech exhibition in Le Mans. During this event, a competition called "Vrac Tech Innovation" was organised.

KROHNE France took part in this competition and was awarded a special prize for the SHIELD Lite product.

The SHIELD Lite is a complete safety and control system for industries using powder storage silos.

This device is installed on top of a storage silo and monitors many control points at all times, including pressure!

Monitoring the pressure in a silo is not common among industrialists with storage silos because they are unfortunately not really aware of the dangers associated with overpressure. However, recommendation R480 was adopted in 2015 to define good practice in the prevention of occupational risks related to loading, transport and unloading of powdered products in tanks.

A single overpressure event can cause serious accidents. It is therefore essential to prevent this from happening. This is where the SHIELD Lite comes in, as it eliminates all risks associated with silo overpressure, and therefore an implosion of the silo or an explosion of the air filter located on the silo.

Safety is and will be at the heart of all discussions among manufacturers in the days, months and years to come.
